Dr. Hesham Ali, our founder, has a PhD in Pavement Engineering, is affiliated with Florida International University, and has published 50+ articles on pavement preservation. In addition to Dr. Ali, our team of skilled professionals has many years of combined experience in the fields of pavement engineering, geotechnical engineering, traffic engineering, materials testing, and pavement contracting.

As a pavement engineering firm, we hold these credentials:

Meet Our Team

Dr. Hesham Ali

PhD, PE

With 26 years of experience in pavement engineering and construction, Dr. Hesham Ali is a reliable name in the field of pavement construction and geotechnical engineering. Being the founder and CEO of Sustainable Road Engineering Inc, Dr. Ali provides his valuable leadership to ensure the utmost precision in all construction and maintenance projects. By now, he has actively participated several highway construction and maintenance projects worth more than $3.5 billion. In his capacity as a Director of Operations, he oversees the Maintenance, Construction, Materials and Traffic Operations departments. His extensive experience with Florida Department of Transportation helps him ensure the highest quality and accuracy in his workmanship.

Dr. Ali served as a Director of Operations, District 4, FDOT, Fort Lauderdale, FL (2005-2009), and also served as the District Materials Engineer, District 4 and 6, FDOT, Fort Lauderdale, FL (2000-2005).

In addition to his industry expertise, Dr. Ali is also teaching the aspirants at Florida International University. He has published more than 50 papers on pavement construction and geotechnical engineering. Dr. Ali has also served as fellow at FHWA’s Long Term Pavement Performance Program. He takes pride in inventing the 3D paving technology that has changed the pavement methodology. Dr. Ali is a master of all skills as he undertakes so many responsibilities sensibly. Dr. Ali is serving as a PI on a number of pavement related projects for FDOT, EPA, LTRC and others

Eman Gomaa

Senior Project Engineer

Ms. Gomaa is a Senior Project Engineer at SRE. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Florida, and holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland and Masters in Transportation Engineering from FIU. With 18 years of experience in the transportation infrastructure management, she has successfully handled several technical and managerial positions with Florida Department of Transportation, PBS&J, URS, Keith and Schnars and FIU.

Ayman Elmasry

Engineering Inspector

Mr. Ayman Elmasry is working as an Engineering Inspector at SRE. He holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and several Construction Management and CTQP certificates. He is a successful professional with 28 years of experience in the pavement construction and maintenance sector.

Fabian Montenegro

Asphalt Plant Expert

Mr. Fabian Montenegro is an Asphalt Plant expert with 32 years of experience with Florida Department of Transportation. He holds a Bachelor Degree from FIU along with several CTQP qualifications, which add values to his workmanship. Mr. Montenegro participated in the setup and oversight of asphalt plants and asphalt laboratories in all FDOT approved asphalt plants in southeast Florida.
